Bunco

Bunco is a dice game played with 12 people on a monthly basis. Our group is closed but we are maintaining a list of substitutes that all of our members have. We are trying to establish a new group, but 12 people need to sign up for the new group for it to get off the ground.

Chairmen: Aneeta Patel (301-315-9272) and Meltem Unal (301-765-0393)

Charity Bridge Challenge

The Charity Bridge Challenge begins in September. This is a social event for all levels of bridge expertise and is the ultimate in ‘Kitchen Table Bridge’. A fee of $20 per person is collected with the registration and will be donated to charity. You must sign up with a partner. Each partnership will be scheduled an opponent for each month of September, October, January, February, March and April. Just set up your own date and time. All matches must be completed by May 1st. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the company. In May a Charity Bridge Luncheon is held and everyone who wishes to play some bridge is invited to attend.

Chairmen: Mary Ruth Benson (301-299-9889) and Lou Mayer (301-881-3084)

There is an open bridge game at Potomac Community Center on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from noon until 3:00 pm. All bridge players are welcome.

Mah Jongg

Mah Jongg is a Chinese game played with tiles that are grouped into suits similar to cards. The idea is to be the first to make a pre-determined hand. Four players play at a time. We play the American version of the game. Our group (12 members) meets every Friday morning throughout the year at a member’s house. At present we have no openings to join our group and unfortunately, we do not have a substitute list as we are a large group. Anyone who has expressed an interest in learning the game will be contacted in October to discuss lessons as well as the possibility of forming a new group.

Chairman: Emuella Flood (301-838-9333)
